The school's Website received the Reward for Excellence from the South Carolina Chapter of the National School Public Relations Association in 2014. 
Mr. Andrew Bowen was named 2015-2016 CGS Teacher of the Year. 
Mrs. Stacy Moore was named 2015-2016 CGS Support Staff Person of the Year.
Mrs. Colleen Stutts was named 2016-2017 CGS Teacher of the Year.
Landrum Police Chief Mr. Chad McNeil was named 2016-2017 CGS Support Staff of the Year. 
CGS received 14 Donor Choose Grants in 2015. 

By raising over $7,600 for Relay for Life, CGS received the Silver level Award.

100% of the 8th grade IGP conferences with parents were completed.

South Carolina School Report Card Absolute and Improvement ratings were "Excellent" in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
Athletic Accomplishments

The CGS Volleyball Team finished the 2015 season with an 8-3 record and won the division championship. Three players were named All Conference.

The CGS Football team finished the 2015 season with 4 wins and 3 losses, and finished second in the division. Four CGS players were named All Conference.

The CGS Boys Basketball team finished the 2015-2016 season with  5 wins and 7 losses. One CGS player was named All Conference.

The CGS Girls Basketball team finished the 2015-2016 season with 9 wins and 3 losses and finished second in their division. Three CGS players were named All Conference.

 CGS won 1st place in the County First Tee Competition in 2016.

Kids Heart Contest (American Heart Association) - 2 winners in 2015

CGS students participated in the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources REEL ART contest. Out of 900 entries, 2 CGS students took honors! A Kindergarten Student won Honorable Mention in primary and a 6th Grade Student won 3rd place in her age group.

Fourth Grade students participated in an "Artist in Resident" for a week doing sculptures.

Fourteen CGS students have artwork on display at the Cultural Center in Spartanburg.

National Career Development Association: Winner, Regional, State.

23 students were honored at the Focus Gallery at USC Upstate by having their artwork displayed.

Orchestra Accomplishments

The 7th and 8th grade orchestra received an Excellent rating at SCMEA Concert Festival on March 15th.

Chorus Accomplishments
The CGS Chorus participates is District Choral Festivals and presents 3 concerts yearly.  
CGS Wildcat Honors Chorus received a Superior Rating at the Carowinds Music Festival on Friday, May 20, 2016! 
CGS Honors Chorus sent 6 students to the SC State Honors Chorus in Columbia, SC.
