Welcome to Campobello Gramling School!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to a school that believes in quality, student-centered education. If you are visiting for the first time, or if you are already a school family member, we welcome you and hope you enjoy the CGS website.

The 2016-17 school year began with 735 students entering the doors of Campobello Gramling School. This year’s theme, From the Mountains to the Sea, CGS is the Place to Be, has given our students the opportunity to highlight our state throughout their lessons.

As we begin the second semester, we reflect on the accomplishments and successes from the first part of the year. The District 1: Powers On initiative has provided 1:1 chromebooks for all students in grades 3-8. Second grade students are now 1:1 with the Acer chromebooks, and Macbooks and Ipads are available for use by all of our first graders and kindergarten students. The CGS volleyball team won the division with only one loss on the season. The football team also enjoyed a competitive season while our boys and girls basketball team completed their seasons this week. The boys team finished third, and our girls finished first in their divisions. In October, CGS was redesignated as a SC School to Watch. In November, we were visited by a committee from Palmetto’s Finest, and we are excited to receive a second visit. Many of our middle school students will be participating in spring sports at both Landrum and Chapman High Schools. The performing arts classes are busy preparing for spring concerts and concert festivals. We are looking forward to sharing the continued successes both in the classroom and the competitive fields for all of our CGS students. It is an exciting time at CGS!

As principal, I have the privilege to work with excellent students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. Our staff is committed to serving every student. We believe CGS is a corridor to opportunity--- students will be challenged, embraced, and given the tools to be college and career ready. The CGS family has created a culture that provides for a student-centered education and believes it is our responsibility to nurture individual learning styles as we prepare our students to lead productive lives now and in the future. This is going to be a wonderful second semester. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s educational experience.
