Students at Holly Springs-Motlow Elementary School have a 40 minute art class once a week.
The art program provides the students with opportunities to learn about art history, art criticism, aesthetics, and art production.
Art
history includes information about artists and artistic styles.
Art
criticism teaches us how to “read” the lines, shapes, colors, etc. and
expressive qualities of a work of art.
Aesthetics helps us to make good judgments about what is “art” and what is not.
Art
production is the making of art using a variety of materials and techniques.
