Meet Mrs. Whitten
Greetings! My name is Sherrie Whitten and I’m happy to be serving Holly Springs Motlow as a Speech Language Pathologist, better known as, the Speech Teacher.
I also serve as the Lead Speech Therapist for District One in a supervising position to the other District Therapists. That’s why I’m only here on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday’s.
I grew up in Charleston, WV and have one sister. I received both a BA and MA degree in Speech Pathology from Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va. My first job brought me to Spartanburg right out of college. I have served Holly Springs-Motlow for 14 years now and have 31 years experience in the public school system.
I have been married to my husband Dan for 26 years and we have 2 married daughters, and our first grandbaby. We built our log home, which is located in Boiling Springs and raised our daughters in that community.
My indoor hobby is sewing. My outdoor interests include camping, canoeing, hiking and biking, and traveling. I have always loved being a speech therapist and working with young children. I look forward to another great year at Holly Springs.
Information about Speech Pathologists
Speech-language pathologists are professionals educated in the study of human communication, its development, and its disorders. By evaluating the speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing skills of children and adults, the speech-language pathologist determines what communication or swallowing problems exist and the best way to treat them.
