Principal's Message

Welcome to Inman Elementary School, where our mission is to provide every child with a quality student-centered education. IES has a rich history of academic success. We have received the South Carolina Literacy Spot Award, the South Carolina Exemplary Reading Award, and were named a South Carolina Palmetto Finest Finalist in 2014. Inman Elementary has a unique grade structure of K4 - 3rd grade, allowing the faculty and staff to focus on needs specific to early childhood students.   All teachers are highly qualified and have been trained to meet the needs of the early learner.  IES has approximately 530 students and a teacher/student ratio of 17:1. The vast majority of  teachers have been trained in Reading Recovery and practice balanced literacy on a daily basis. Our goal is to ensure that every student is reading on or above grade level before they leave our campus. As I enter my first year as principal at Inman Elementary, I am excited to see the love, passion, and expectations for academic excellence from every faculty and staff member.  The future of Inman Elementary couldn’t be brighter. It is a fabulous school with a wonderful, caring staff.

 Thank you

Students enjoyed hearing from author Michael Finklea. He shared his books with us and encouraged us to write stories about anything. He reminded us that everyone is an author!

Clay Potter Visits Inman Elementary School
During the week of November 13th, all 3rd grade students at Inman Elementary School were inspired by having a visiting professional Potter, Tyson Graham visit as he taught techniques ranging from pinch pots to slab and coil construction. The students used these clay techniques to create a menagerie of sculpted animals such as birds, turtles, rabbits, and fish. The artist-in-residency was made possible by the Tryon Fine Arts Center, Be Inspired Grant.  Students and their parents were inspired by Mr. Graham, as he told his personal and professional stories, and demonstrated lessons on various hand-built clay techniques at Art Night, held on Thursday, November 16th.  Mr. Graham made such a lasting impression on so many children for years to come!
