Just since 2002, we have won 54 Region Championships, 19 Upper State Championships, 11 Team State Championships and 8 individual State Championships.  In the history of the school, we have won a total of 95 Region Championships, 33 Upper State Championships and 19 Team State Championships. In the 2010-11 school year, our teams won 8 Region Championships and 2 State Championships. We had 8 Region Coaches of the year and 1 SCACA Statewide Coach of the year in XC. Currently, in the 2011-12 school year, we had Football have a record season with only the 2nd- 9 win season in school history, both XC teams finish in 2nd place in State Championships and all 3 of our Winter sport teams (Boys and Girls Basketball and Wrestling)  win Region Championships. Our Boys Basketball team lost to eventual State Champion, Great Falls HS in the Upper State Championship played at the Bilo Center. In 2006-07, we won the prestigious Herald Journal General Excellence Cup. This award goes to the most successful athletic program in our area.   This was the first time a 1A school had ever won the award which is based on championships won, coaches of the year, players of the year etc. We compete for the award against the likes of Dorman, Spartanburg, Byrnes, Woodruff, Chesnee, Broome and Boiling Springs High School. We have placed in the top 5 each of the past 6 years for the SCHSL Class A Directors Cup. In the current school year, 2011-12, we have 19 LHS graduates playing a sport at 9 different Colleges and Universities in 8 different sports. We are so proud of our fine student athletes representing LHS at the college level. We currently have had 3 senior athletes sign this school year to play in college next year in football, soccer and softball and hope to have several more. We have a dedicated staff of coaches that put their athletes first. We strive to instill good character, good sportsmanship and a strong work ethic in our student-athletes to help them succeed in the real world after graduation. Our facilities are among the very best in the Southeastern United States. We have incredible support from both the Landrum and Campobello communities.
