Retrofitting a
Tricycle
Adaptive
Technology Project
Problem to Solve:
You must design and build a
tricycle for a physically handicapped child. First, you will use Anthropometrics Data
of Children to create a child model out of cardboard. The model will allow you to design your
tricycle. You can use a 1:1 scale
or modified. Then you will create a
sketch of your tricycle and begin to build your prototype. You must use the same
scale from the child model. The
prototype must work enough to be able to create a frame animation of it
operating. Since the child has no
use of their legs, the tricycle must be powered another way. The final design must not have the child
in the reclined position. Next, you
will have to create an advertisement aimed at the parents using PowerPoint. The presentation has to emphasize safety
and it has to include the animation of your tricycle. The presentation has to be
professionally done. Finally, you will create a model of your tricycle using
Pro-desktop 3D.
