Industrial Technology Education

Dear Parent

Your child is enrolled in the industrial technology education program at Landrum High School.  The class will provide your child the opportunity to learn about the different technologies related to manufacturing, communications, power, energy, transportation, and construction by completing a series of hands-on problem solving activities.  Your child will be able to interact with robots, computer numerical control (CNC) machines, computer aided drafting (CAD) systems, and other high tech equipment.  As the class completes their activities, they will be incorporating the material into writing assignments for the year.  Papers and multimedia displays will be used.  Hopefully your child will enjoy the class.  The student's final grade will be based on the following:

                                    TECHNICAL REPORT/WRITING ..............   20%

                                    PROJECTS…………………………………… 70%

                                    DAILY WORK ……………………………… 10%

 

CLASSROOM RULES

                                    1.  Be on Time

                                    2.  Bring Materials to Class

                                    3.  Be respectful to teacher and classmates

                                    4.  Treat equipment with care and respect

                                    1. Warning

                                    2. Lunch detention.

            Your child will need to bring his materials to class everyday.  S/he will need to have the following items: a 1-inch notebook, paper, a ruler, a compass, and a pencil.  The student will also be required to be some materials from home such as, cardboard, poster board, and other odds and ends, which will be needed for some projects.
