Raley Castro, an eighth grader at Landrum Middle School, won the Lt. Governor's Writing Award from Lt. Governor André Bauer. She received a plaque from the lieutenant governor at a statewide ceremony in Columbia. Every year, over 100,000 fifth and eighth grade students from across the state participate in the program, but only one is selected from each district.
Sarah Davis has been selected as the Teacher of the Year of Landrum Middle School for the 2008-2009 school year.
