About Me
Welcome to the Cub’s Counseling Corner

Mrs. Phillips
My name is Ginger Phillips and I am very excited to be entering my third year as the school counselor at Mabry. I graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and again in 2009 with a Masters degree in School Counseling. I am also a Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF).
My Philosophy of Counseling
As the School Counselor at Mabry Middle School I believe that all students have the right to learn in a safe environment that fosters their personal, social, academic, and career growth. To facilitate this growth, all students have open access to the counselor through a self-referral and teacher-referral system. Also, through classroom guidance lessons, all students receive information on developmentally appropriate topics. I believe all students deserve the right to learn in an environment that is respectful of their individuality. Therefore, I believe in a student-centered approach to individual counseling. Through the use of solution-focused techniques, I work with students to aid them in solving their own problems in developmentally appropriate ways. I believe in involving all stakeholders in the development of the Guidance and Counseling Program. It takes a team approach to foster the development of the whole child so I work closely with administrators, teachers, staff, and parents to provide the highest quality counseling program possible.
