5th Grade Charleston Field Trip
Fifth graders will be heading to Charleston on Thursday, March 31-Friday, April 1.
This 2-day adventure allows our students to gain real life learning experiences outside the classroom. On the first day of our adventure, we will go on a carriage tour of Charleston, learning about its rich history and some geological features. Then, students will head to Patriot's Point, where students will learn about the Yorktown's history and how aircraft carriers function during wartime and peace. Students will spend the night there in the bunks!
Friday morning, we will travel to Boeing to explore the engineering and design process of their planes. Students will also participate in a plane building activity! Then, we will navigate through an inlet and to a barrier island, Capers Island, to learn about the coastal ecosystem, and the "motions of the ocean"!
