The Communications Office builds public support and understanding for the mission of Spartanburg School District One, its students, staff, and schools. The department communicates the district’s position on issues affecting students, staff, families and schools; advocates for public education; and encourages community, school, and parent engagement.
The Communications Office is also responsible for delivering accurate information in a timely manner; maintaining internal and external communications for the district; managing requests for information, including Freedom of Information Act requests; writing and publishing news releases, annual reports, internal and external newsletters; and answering the public’s questions.
As a liaison between the district, the community, and the media, this department assists in coordinating media coverage and assists in providing information about the district.
