Mike Reid, LHS Football Coach

The Spartanburg One Board of Trustees has approved the hiring tonight of Coach Mike Reid as the next Head Football Coach at Landrum High School. Coach Reid currently serves as Assistant Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator at Landrum, where he has played a key role in developing the program over the past two seasons.

Before joining Landrum, Coach Reid served as Defensive Coordinator at Blacksburg High School and spent a decade at Broome High School coaching multiple defensive positions. He has also coached varsity baseball and golf, with over a decade of experience as a physical education teacher.

“Coach Reid is a proven leader and someone who truly understands the heart of our school and community,” said Athletic Director Alex Smith. “His commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field makes him the right fit to lead the Cardinals.”

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve as Head Football Coach at Landrum High School,” said Reid. “This is a special place, and I’ve already invested in the players, staff, and community. I look forward to building on that foundation and leading our program with energy, discipline, and purpose.”

Coach Reid is a graduate of Broome High School and earned his B.S. in Physical Education from USC Upstate. He holds a Master’s in Athletic Administration from Concordia University and a Masters +30 in Coaching from the University of La Verne. He and his wife, Kimberly, are proud parents of Kynlee (6) and Tripp (3).

🗓 The community is invited to welcome Coach Reid on Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. in the gym at Landrum High School. Please note: the date is subject to change due to Landrum baseball playoff scheduling.
