Chief Safety Officer Jeff Harmon

The Spartanburg One Board of Trustees has approved  Mr. Jeff Harmon as the new chief safety officer for Spartanburg School District One.  Mr. Harmon’s background includes 28 years of law enforcement experience, which includes serving as an agent, team leader, regional director, and agent in charge. Most recently he has served with the S.C. Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon Services as the Director of the Office of Professional Responsibility.  

Mr. Harmon steps into this new role for the 2022-2023 school year that was recently approved by the Spartanburg One Board of Trustees. Superintendent Dr. Ronald W. Garner states, “The increasing threat to the safety and security of our children in schools across the nation is alarming.  This position supports Spartanburg One’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and protection of students and staff.  Mr. Harmon’s law enforcement background brings a wealth of knowledge that provides a diverse perspective to our team. We are excited to have Mr. Harmon join our district.”
