5th grade students in Mrs. Shearer's ELA classes had an exciting day diving into a variety of unique and hands-on careers! From science to the arts (and even a little dessert!), students explored what it might be like to step into the shoes of four fascinating professionals:

🌊 Sea Turtle Biologist – Students mapped real sea turtle habitats and used scenario cards to learn how scientists protect these amazing creatures.

🧵 Puppeteer – Using their creativity, students designed their own puppets, then used them to teach classmates what they learned about sea turtle biology and/or beekeeping.

🍰 Pastry Chef & Bakery Owner – At our “Decimal Diner,” students practiced adding decimals as they “priced” and “purchased” items—just like running a real shop!

🐝 Beekeeper – Students explored the importance of bees in our environment and learned how beekeepers help protect and support healthy hives.

These real-world activities helped students connect their learning to exciting future career possibilities. We’re so proud of their creativity, teamwork, and curiosity! 🌟
