Tuesday evening, Nov. 4, 2025, the Landrum High School Girls Varsity Volleyball Team delivered a powerful performance on the road, defeating North Central High School by a convincing 3-0 score (25-21, 28-26, 25-23) in a county playoff matchup, a victory that helped propel the Cardinals to the Upper State Championship.

The Cardinals came out strong from the start, capturing the first set 25-21. They then battled through a tightly contested second set, edging out North Central 28-26 to take a commanding 2-0 lead. The home team fought hard in the third, but Landrum closed it out 25-23 to finish the sweep and secure the Upper State title.
Statistically, Landrum’s balance was a key to success:
Kills: 127, hitting percentage .228
Serve receive: 57 receptions with just 6 errors, averaging 19 receptions per serve-miss
Defense: 68 digs, averaging 22.7 per set
Standout contributors included junior Alaina Adams, who chipped in 14 kills (.412 hitting %) and junior O. Washington with 12 kills (.364 hitting %).
With this victory, Landrum not only advances deeper into postseason play but also celebrates a historic Upper State Championship, cementing their status as one of the region’s top programs.
