The Landrum Cardinals Girls Basketball program is celebrating an incredible season filled with individual achievements, team success, and well-deserved recognition across the region and state.
Leading the way was standout sophomore Delaney Caldwell, who earned All-State honors and was named the AA Region Player of the Year. Caldwell dominated on both ends of the floor this season, averaging 20.5 points per game, 8.9 rebounds, 3.8 assists, and 4.8 steals per game. She also led the team in several statistical categories and finished the season with 615 total points, making her one of the most dynamic players in the region.
Senior leader Kylie Fortner also had an outstanding year, earning All-State and AA All-Region honors. Fortner averaged 19.3 points per game, 2.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 steals per game, finishing the season with 580 total points and 71 steals. Her leadership, scoring ability, and consistency helped drive the Cardinals throughout the season.
Junior guard Hazel Cain was recognized as AA All-Region after playing a key role in the team’s offense. Cain contributed 89 assists and 54 steals this season and averaged 3.1 assists per game, ranking among the team leaders in playmaking and defensive pressure.
Guiding the program to success was Kali Koenig, who was named AA Coach of the Year. Under her leadership, the Cardinals finished the season with an impressive 24–7 overall record and an 11–2 region record, while climbing to No. 2 in South Carolina’s Class AA rankings and winning the AA State Championship.
With a talented roster, strong leadership, and a culture of hard work, the Cardinals’ season was one to remember. The honors earned by Fortner, Cain, and Caldwell, along with Coach Koenig’s recognition, highlight the dedication and excellence that define the Landrum program.
