🧪🦜 Mrs. Quinn's 8th graders explored adaptations through a fun and interactive lab! Students became "birds" for the day, using different tools like tweezers, spoons, binder clips, and test tube holders to mimic various beak types — all while trying to pick up lima beans (aka "food") as quickly as possible. 🥄✂️📎 They quickly discovered that not all beaks are created equal — and that a bird’s survival can depend heavily on how well its beak is adapted to its environment and food source. 🍬🧸 Gummy Bears in Government?! Yes, you read that right! Our 7th-grade social studies students explored different forms of government using everyone's favorite candy—gummy bears! Students grouped their bears to represent systems like democracy, monarchy, dictatorship, and more, learning how power is shared (or not shared!) in each type of government.
