This past Monday, we proudly recognized students across Spartanburg One for exceptional achievement, talent, and kindness. Okalani Fox, 12th grader at Chapman High School, was named the 2025 South Carolina Theatre Association Best Performer. Ximena Estrada, a 5th grader at Inman Intermediate, was named the Kindest Kid in America — the first student in South Carolina to receive this national recognition! Spartanburg One has officially released next year’s school calendar, approved by our Board of Trustees. Key dates include the first day of school on August 6, 2026, fall break in October, mid-winter break in February, and spring break in April.

➗ Welcome Mr. Jacob Vaughn to Mabry Middle School! Mr. Vaughn will be teaching 8th Grade Math and bringing his love for numbers (and sports!) to the classroom. A native of Anderson, he graduated from Palmetto High School in 2021, where he played golf and baseball. He went on to attend Anderson University, graduating in 2025 with a degree in Secondary Math Education. During his time at AU, Jacob met his wife, Gracelyn, who now teaches kindergarten at Inman Elementary. The couple married this summer and have made their home in Landrum. After completing his student teaching at Palmetto High, Jacob is ready to invest in the students of Spartanburg One. “I knew this was where I wanted to teach because my wife and mother-in-law both work here,” said Mr. Vaughn. “I’ve seen firsthand the sense of family in this district, and I wanted to be part of it.” Welcome to Spartanburg One, Mr. Vaughn! 📣 This week, we’re excited to feature our new induction teachers—the newest members that are starting their teaching careers in Spartanburg One! 🎶 First up is Mr. Clark Bagwell, who is coming home to share his love of music with the next generation! Mr. Bagwell is kicking off his first year of teaching in a big way—serving as General Music and Band Teacher at Inman Intermediate, Band Teacher at Campobello Gramling, and Assistant Band Director at Landrum High! 🎷 A proud product of Spartanburg One, Clark attended our schools and graduated from Landrum High in spring 2021. He recently earned his degree in Music Education from the University of South Carolina in May 2025, after completing his student teaching in Lexington One. Now, he’s back home—and we’re so glad he chose to return to the district that helped shape his love for music. 🎶❤️ “I’m incredibly excited to begin my teaching journey in the same schools that inspired me,” said Mr. Bagwell. “It’s a full-circle moment, and I’m honored to give back to the community that has meant so much to me.” Welcome to the Spartanburg One Family, Mr. Bagwell!
